That would do it or a heat gun .I have an old American Beauty iron that is 750 watt you can solder a radiator with .They don't even make them any more .it must weigh 5 pounds and takes a half hour to get up to heat .

I have one similar if not the same.$10.00 garage sale.fixed a few rads with it

I bought a plastic bucket full of heavy irons at a garage sale type of thing .Included with this the largest were also I think a 500 watt and maybe a 250 .I turned the copper down on the 250 and use it to heat the inner race on the crank bearings on Stihls for reassembly . I think you can still buy the brand American Beauty but not that 750 watt size . They are rather costly new .

Skewing off topic a little bit .my old Fergy 1951 had a leaky radiator .I couldn't find 50/50 solder or acid flux locally ,had to go to flea bay .Typical of the government trying to protect ourselves from ourselves . I think I ended with around 30 pounds .I won't run out in the near future .
What a pain in the buttocks,antique radiator but I got it .The next one to leak was the 1962 GJ5 Jeep .Pizz on it I bought a new aluminum radiator for that one .

Actually there are several kinds of red ,locker and sealer .I have both .Both can be bought in a red bottle ,the industrial comes in a translucent bottle and holds about a gallon or the metric equivalent of same .

Today's project: Titan 40. These are quite different from the Titan 50/57 models and are also much easier to work on than the Titan 50/57/Double Eagle 50. The 40 is a reed valve saw with no manual oiler and the impulse signal through the carburetor flange so there is only one simple fuel line from the tank to the carburetor and a vent. The throttle linkage and choke are also much easier to disconnect and connect as well. This one came in a large batch of saws from Oregon that were used at the Blount/Oregon factory for testing, presumably testing the kick back tendency of chain since they all have the handles modified to fit in some kind of test rig I guess.

They share a lot of components with the Power Mac 380, worked out for me as I needed the starter parts and a fuel cap for this one. I picked up the started cover from e-Bay a while back and added the spring and drum from the 380. The fuel cap had also been modified along the way, perhaps for extended running???

All done, started right up but will need some additional fine tuning. I think I will put a NOS bar on it when I put it on display.

Got a mini mac 6 today, along with some green and red ones.
He had a D44 I found under the pile, but wouldnt let it go.
Also wouldnt part with the Husky 77 he had, or the Stihl 064, numerous 044s, 031s, or the two 019Ts I was trying to sneak in the bundle. LOL!

The Mini Mac 6 is more difficult to work on that the others since the starter is nor removable. You have to pull the starter rope out 6 to 12" and work the flywheel fins through the starter clutch when removing or installing the engine in the housing.

I remember seeing that in the service manuals Mark.
Maybe this one is a later model? I just took a closer look at the pic, and the starter looks to be bolted on like the 25 and the 110.
I think it may also be a 1/4 pitch chain.
The power mac 6 I have is 1/4 pitch.

Weed. I go down I 5 a few times a year, always wanted to pull off at Weed and see what is there. Wondered where the name came from, maybe some Humboldt Hunnies left the coast and decided to spread the "Weed".

I already have the big black book and some on CD by McBob plus the micro fiche set .Bob up in Maryland NY had his daughter peddle about 4 or 5 of them on flea bay .I bought the first one and payed a blooding fortune for it .Those after went cheaper .The shipping from NY state wasn't that bad .It might be 12-15 pounds,never weighed it .
I was going to let McBob get it but the more I thought about it would have cost him like $150 to ship it to Australia .So I sniped it and told him I'd scan whatever he wanted then presto he got the second one up for about half what I had in mine .--things happen ---

I was a dumb kid in the 1960's. My dad owned a truck repair shop, had a lot of fun there.

But one of his brothers was the McCulloch dealer. He became ill in about 1966 and shut down the business. My dad got most of the parts, saws, tools, manuals and other stuff. Did not mean much to me back then and I was drafted in 1967 and went off to the war. Most of the McCulloch stuff disappeared over the years, dad gave a lot of it away. I recall big black McCulloch Service Manual binders full of good stuff.

And I recall running 1-41 and similar saws with big bow bars, cutting up pine logs for firewood.

If I had any brains at all I would have grabbed everything and put it into secure storage! Some of the saws were new in the box. And tons of bars, bows and chain. Bow bars were popular there, in the coastal swamps and pine woods flats of Georgia.
