Faced with the problem of a missing pawl on a SEM flywheel. Only the spring and pawl being still available as replacement parts. The stud is nla.
Figured I would see what else could be found to make it work again. Dug through my bolt bin and found what I believe is a stud from a 2 series of saw like a 272. The old ones were press fit and the new threaded, but the hole was too big, but small enough yet a hell coil could be used.

Was a tad long and had to be shortened a good eighth of an inch or so, that it wouldn't hit the CD unit behind it. Otherwise was a pretty straight forward repair.

Was a fairly easy process in the drill press.
First made sure that the table was square.

Line it up, lock it down and drill.

Before moving anything get the tap started in the hole for a perfect alignment.

The new combination of the 2100 flywheel was giving the starter pulley a ever so slightly of a rub. Probably the difference is in the air foil, having the plastic inset one and not the metal plate that would have gave it that little bit of extra space. Turned the corner down in the lathe to make clearance to make everything happy.

Carburetor decided to get into the act. Pump side was warped enough to cause a leak.

Straightened it out on a piece of glass with sticky sandpaper affixed.

I keep a new cover just in case of this but the old one held fine.

Thank you sir! You really went above and beyond in all aspects! I plan on writing up a great post over in the builder review area.

How'd you like those home made rubber AV mounts? It was like that when I got it from the 2nd owner logger who rigged it up back in the 80's. It also came with a crushed/tapped up plastic handle and a worn out oiler which are the only things I addressed before you performed your magic on it.

Now it'll probably be one of the last surviving 1100's years from now.
