I found this in an old Jonsered dealership that closed down a few years ago. Motor is not stuck and the chain still turns on the roller nose bar. Its missing the muffler cover and may need a coil because the plug wire is missing.

They're good runners...I think the ignition is potted if that has the original coil. So a replacement is likely the easiest route to fix that.

I know nothing about the old mac saws. I was actually looking for a friend and didnt figure I'd ever find one in my little town. Needless to say I was really surprised when I wiped the dust off it and it was a 125. I do have a pic of the coil

Sparkplug wire just screws on the coil. Seal with a little dab of rtv to keep water out. Done.

Nice find. Double check the chrome around the exhaust port. Mcculloch had some issues with the plating later in the game. Dont think the 125 was affected but still give it a good look.

Great find there Dale. I'm pretty excited to see it when it shows up. I have been wanting one of these for a long time.

Lmao thank you very much again Dale. Not sure about the avatar lol. Hard to kick Gramps old saw to the curb.
You're very welcome Mike. I understand keepin your avatar. My dad gave me both saws in mine. He bought the 288 new with a blue top and I happened to have the blue top for a 266 when he gave me the saw.

Both of those saws in your avatar are very special as well. May have to work on a 2 saw avatar lol.

Evidently the early 125's used the larger coil while the later used a smaller like on the 10 series .Both mine are the 10 series size .My IPL's are dated 1970 and 1977 . I didn't check the micro fiche which is dated later . It doesn't make any difference because seldom does a Mac points type coil fail .
