Good morning!
It is raining here this morning. It is so muddy, I can barely get my vehicles into the driveway.
My truck, and the car are both stranded where I cant even get them out. It won't stay cold enough long enough to firm up my driveway where I can even move things...
It sure beats being dry though...
The ground ought to be better aerated and make a good garden this year.

Grow rice!
That wood work next to this creek if the ground wasn't so full of rocks. Makes it hard to form up banks from the clay that wood keep the water in. There are several pump designs that are powered by the flow of the water.
34° will get back up to 45° like yesterday at 5 a.m.¿ tomorrow ? they say with rain

An old timer in Seymour told me “a dry year can worry you to death, but a wet year can starve ya to death”..

Morning Gents! Been busy as all get out lately and had a few a-holes try to rob us last weekend... A 185gr Hollow-point round in .400 diameter sent them away in a hurry though and nothing taken... The Sheriff's deputy told me that I was probably looking at a best-case response time of 15-20 minutes from them, ergo; be prepared to fix it myself.

Haven't done much cutting lately in this slop, but I have put a few tanks through a new-to-me Snellerized MS660. I'm surprised how well it pulled a full-comp chisel 36" chain through 32" of dry Red Oak trunk... I've got a 7 pin rim on it now for ease of loop mounting/removal and keeping the chain speed higher in the torque band, but overall I'm pretty damn happy!

Also picked up this:

Runs like a top! Rebuilt engine, new clutch, new brakes, all new tires and decent paint. It has a loaner battery right now so I still need to buy a new one. It's been converted to 12V with a GM style 1-wire alternator and usually starts w/in the 1st 2-3 turns of the starter! Also has the override clutch for the PTO which is nice. Also got 4 attachments with it, for not a hell of a lot more than the price of the tires...

Just saw in a local paper that they are dumping snow from the streets into a large snowblower to blow it onto a more compact, and higher pile. I'll bet that thing will be around for the 4th of July!

Or be like NYC and have LP fired melters

Due for another 3-5 Saturday and Sunday. More overtime..... yippee! Push snow all day then go home and push/blow more snow.

And rain tonight into tomorrow
I guess the only good thing is it will seal the snow from blowing on Sunday with 50mph wind [emoji15]

We will be happy to share with you, guesses are 1/4” - 1/2” rain tonight, with .1” -.2” ice tomorrow & 4” -9” snow tomorrow night. I see they have widen the blizzard warning area. Sunday sounds like a glorious day in the neighborhood.

I am blaming Momma, it snowed when she left for Florida with one of our daughters, snowed when they got back & she left for a weekend retreat/get together tonight. She may have a hard time making it home Sunday.

That would of been one big ass lake!
WOW, that would of been a whopper. Aren’t they a couple of lakes by Lawrence? When were they constructed? Just out of curiosity maybe they were chosen over that one.

Probably would of been too many folks to move out to build that , with all those communities up through there. I have been up thru there with the truck a few times.

Yes you have Lake Perry 1964 to the north west on the Delaware River and Clinton Lake 1975 on the south west edge of town on the Wakarusa river.

And this map was before the 51 flood. After that they made Milford Lake out west of Manhattan on the Republican river and then Tuttle Creek on the Blue river north of Manhattan. Building this one in the map would of taken away some of the best farm land in the world.
