Thanks MEN !!!

Whilst I do appreciate the kind words, I’m just not thrilled with the way the colors contrast. I’m really leaning towards tearing it down again and spraying both case halves together. I’m just not happy with the contrasting shades. I don’t mind spending a few extra hours or $$ on any build, so the time and/or effort isn’t driving anything, I just don’t like sending out a saw that could be better, if I could have done something else or something different.

I don’t really think that this paint is an exact match. I’m really considering painting both case halves together, I don’t really care how much time it takes, I want this saw to make its owner smile, and either the Valspar or this suggested paint aint an exact match

Thanks MEN !!!

I work at a print shop and color matching can be a pain, and these a several million dollar machines doing it.

If you take it down and repaint maybe primer it? Before you apply your top coat.

I don’t blame you man. I did the same thing on my 288. Painted it with Allis Chalmers orange which looked great until I started putting the plastics on it. Contrasted too much so I tore it back apart and painted the cases with the Husqvarna orange that you have. OCD satisfied. Would’ve had it powder coated by mike had I thought about it ahead of time. Didn’t want to wait to assemble it by the time I realized I didn’t like the paint.

That says an awful lot about you! Probably makes your life more difficult but I’ll bet the saws owner will be one happy guy. You da man.

Great thinking !
I had the exact discussion with the owner this morning

I actually asked him if he wanted it powdered, says it’s going to be a work saw

I do difficult things at work, spraying magnesium with rattle can stuff is fairly easy

I think Kevin has got Doc beat in the OCD dept !!! Lol
I like Doc, alot !
We usually don’t compare ourselves to each other. We both work hard, have 4 kids, like working on and playing with saws, and we both enjoy a cold one every now and then. Doc is a great guy, and a great friend !

I’m enjoying this build Kevin. Well done
I believe that I have a box of yours. It has no address and it’s just recently been uncovered. Am I wrong, did I ever get that over to you ? I don’t remember.

And if it isn’t yours, then I’m totally lost as to what’s in it and whose it is.......... I don’t like this getting old crap, it messes with the mind a bit

I’d love to see a head to head OCD test with those two
I’d rather drink a cold one with him

A husky or echo with matching orange parts might be weird lol
True, but my new Husky’s match everything and they look great

The owner and I have decided to put the saw together and see what it looks like. If he or I aren’t happy, I’ll gladly tear it apart and prep, prime, and paint everything so it’s all matching.

I do have a box there. I know how busy you are. You are coming to dans right? We could just hand it off there.

My most humble apologies David. It got buried under a bunch of things and I lost track of it. I’m going to be at Dans, but when I send this saw out, your box will be sent as well. I appreciate your patience and understanding, may I ask you to please give me the address that you want it sent to, when you have a chance

Kev, you work more hours in a week than any other person I have ever had contact with. Most people understand.

One little detail about the fuel tank side tank limiter. I trim about 0.100” off from its length, otherwise the new tank will leak pretty quickly

There should be gaps that are just about equal with the tank sitting upside down and empty
