Guy was showing off a NIB one he just bought. Pics on CRG last week or so. Think he got it from another guy I know and just sent 3120 to.

Friend of mine priced one of his used 681's in same thread NIB one was shown.

He priced it to me in back ground too. But I have no interest in them.

They're still being produced and sold new in Europe, Asia, and Africa.

If a guy wants to pay the shipping, there are two sellers in Germany who are willing to ship new powerheads to North America.
Did they ever come out with the new version?

I'm not sure - the newer models have black top cover and filter covers, which may indicate some design changes.

In the old days - the Solos that had the black covers were a consumer version of a professional model saw, like the 670 and 654.

They also made a pro model and a farm model of the 667, farm model having the black covers.

I bought a new 681 top end recently from Germany but I'm not seeing any differences so far.

No interest here in it. Used one friend said he would sell and priced on CR to folks inPM's. Pics he sent last night.

Now he said the NIB 1 is staying there for collecting and other friend with his 2 NIB are staying for collecting too.

I wont be able to do much right now so wont be checking pm's. I lost everything last night with a puter. All emails passwords etc. So going to be slow going. Guessing some passwords, but locked out of emails etc.

Bud - I was referring to new models that are in current production (665, 675, 681). As far as I know, no one is making and selling parts for those old Solos like the 690. The 690 is an old model
and parts for it have been NLA for quite a while. Your best bet there is to watch Ebay and Craigslist for 670/680/690/603 parts and parts saws - they pop up every once in a while.

The 665/675/685 share no parts at all with the 670/680/690/603. There's literally nothing that interchanges.

I Was afraid of that, I LOVE that 690 Motor, it's like a D-10 Cat, you Just can't bog it out, or stall it it Just Growls Louder, and *s-words Ribbons of wood out the back, """But""" Everything else about the saw is phoned home, and Half Assed, I have a feeling that it Was Probably a Great saw, then the Accounting department got a hold of it, and cut corners, Till it was a circle.....

The 690 is a great saw - I just bought a 690 short block from a member to build up for myself. I never fell timber with one because they were a little before my time, but my dad ran big Solos (680, 690, 603)
in the woods in the early-mid '80's when he was cutting timber around Grants Pass/Cave Junction.
