All the ones I've done won't lean out much past 12k without the carb mod.

Limiter has been around 13.2-5

Ymmv

The limiter in that module is gradually retarding ignition from 11K. Spark is always present so all phenomenons are related to fuel burning time and place. 620 has different programmed ignition map but the same principle. So does every echo with digital ignition.

Yes, 620 has more total timing, think it actually starts retarding at a lower rpm than the 590/600.

Been awhile since I looked at the curves.

620 starts going down a bit (500rpm) later but initially waaay milder and from waaay higher angle.

Bringing this back......
I’ve got a 590 on the way that needs some assistance so might as well tinker with it while it’s apart.

Anyone have updates on how their saws turned out?!

I’m curious to know if a 620pw wrap handle will fit a 590?

The 620 wrap I'll fit. The aftermarket 372xp full wrap will fit with a few mods and is much cheaper.

Note that 620PW also has different oil pipe for better flexibility & pick-up.

I was quoted a price by a echo dealer for a 620 wrap handle. They said about $50. I didn’t think that was to bad considering the 620 clutch drum was about $50 as well from the same dealer. I think I remember someone having an aftermarket part number for a clutch drum though and if someone knows it could you please share it here. I got a couple 590’s one of them needs a drum and would like a 620 style for less than about $50. Lol.

$50 for the 620 full wrap is cheap. I normally see them around $100.

That’s just what I was told so who knows. I was probably told wrong. I have a knack for getting ahold of some crummy parts guys. Mostly ones who look up car parts though.

This may have been in here somewhere, but just comparing the IPL’s for the 590 and 620 there seems to be only a few differences. The real question I have is will the 620 p/c fit the 590? The case assemblies are different numbers so maybe not?

Talked with my dealer here and it looks like
Around $100 for the handle. The 620 coil near $80 and a new piston and cylinder is around $170.
From the looks of things I might just go to a 620 p/c, coil and handle. As far as the carb it looks like the 620 carb is the best bet with some mods. @Red97 have you found the best set up yet or is there another carb that’s worth trying?
