Haven't seen or heard a turkey in weeks around here. They sure can be sneaky when they want to be.
Same here. Usually I have them year round??

Had company training in Middleburg today. Most of the guys are headed to town for supper. I got permission to hunt, so I'm in the woods now. 100+ acres of private before I get to state game lands. [emoji106]

Currently sitting behind some brush watching my decoys on the back part of our place. I know the turkeys like this area, encountered them many times. Otherwise, I don't know what the hell I'm doing.
Just make a few yelps every once in a while. Don't go crazy.. you might find a lonely one.

Longbeards have been roaming a lot around here in search of hens. Can't wait until next Saturday!(youth day)

Sons first bird weekend before this on Youth Day = the best turkey hunting I've ever done. I got that bird to stick around half an hour after he missed it. .410 break open with TSS

Mine from this weekend. #9 12ga TSS and Sumtoy Nice beard but not huge. I need to find some like our south central PA boys @leadfarmer and @brainie with some of those big old spurs. This guys had respectable 1-1/8" spurs, just a bit bigger than the one my son shot. I breast them out then season and vacuum pack them. I Sous vide some and smoke some. You have to be super careful smoking not to go past about 160 but the sous vide is super easy.
