Spent a lot of time wif an 026 in my hands. Thats probably why I like the 501. Reminds me a lot of an 026. Weights about 10.5# power head. I think it weights around 13ish wif a 18" tsumura light and tough wif .325

Hows the 501 performance? I have read similar to a 545 husky but I've never ran one.[/QUOTE]
I don’t know about the 501 I had some experience with the 500 which was similar but I think they increased the power. A 545 was stronger than the 500. I have herd the 501 is much better power wise. But the anti vibe on the 500 was terrible and even though it was light it wasn’t very comfortable as far as handling. Not as saw I would want to run all day. Plus it had a front chain tensioner which they may have changed also. That is one problem I have with echo is every class of saw is a different design. They may hit a home run in one class and have a big heavy turf in another.

They work for what I do.

But I'd never log with one.

I can understand that. When I cut logs for a few days to help a guy last summer I used a 562 and 372. 372 mostly as it was 20” plus oak and poplar. I didn’t care for the way the 661 run trying to mill. It’s plenty rich but they didn’t seem to be happy like a 395 on there

For yard trees we make our biggest cuts with our 661s which isn't often..strong as balls.. none of my friends that log with one like it..idk..

The suburban mom crossovers aren't adding points to your mancard, bro!

Whatever you do don't believe him when he says he will give you the saw for free if you get in his van. Don't take free saws from strangers in vans kids.:deal:

I don't know about the 501, but my 500P is about the same size and weight as the 026- which is one creamsicle that I do like!

My baby saws are all Ported 026s.

After the 200T has had enough, that’s the next saw.

You should try them with Norf Carolina hashbrowns.

P.S.,
The MS461s are great too.

How does the 501p compare weight wise to a sporty 026/260?

Feels a lot like an 026. It does feel lighter to me. But you run it a while and run a 550 or a 346 a while you will see the difference in the anti vibe. My brother had a 500 and hated it just wasn’t comfortable to run. The sideways balance was off or something lol.
