Wow. OK. So only the 462 filter is washable. The 261 filter is not.

For non-nylon filters I use K&N Filter Cleaner and works fine. Would it work on the nylon filters as well?

Usually air cleaned and IF (rare those last months) there’s a day off then Washed with STIHL VARIOCLEAN and water (whatever water available)... actually ALL FILTERS ARE WASHABLE what matters is the time to get back to work.

Nylon mesh you can even “pipi” and get it working!

I'll check later the part # for the 241-261-362 and the 462.

Be careful Iceboy. The part numbers on the filters in your picture are not the valid part numbers for ordering. It`s often the case that on the part is a other number as it is listed in the system or the IPL.

Part number for the HD2 filter of the MS241 271 291 261 362 is 1141 120 1604.

View attachment 150506 View attachment 150507 By the way I also bought this nylon filter for my 462.

Just out of curiosity
I really like that nylon filter, I'm glad they made it as an option. Now I need one for my 261 CM.

The 261 filter's deep pleat ridges collect and hold sawdust like a magnet.
My 550XP and 562 does the same with its underside pleats.
But I do understand that the pleats offer a larger surface area ....just great dust collectors.

As wrote before in STIHL IPL the nylon mesh is mentioned as “the older version”... how old is a filter for a chainsaw released couple of months go figure... after the first 10tanks i ll be able to test differences between filters however from my own view and SURVIVAL mode the nylon is more practical i can clean it with any liquid available at any location (human generated liquids included) and keep on going.

If you can buy it. I ll order for my 261 also

You’re lucky enough to live in USA so fix or find someone to fix your custom one. Maybe gonna be a sales hit
Lucky to live here in Canada too.
From Stihl Canada I just bought this 1980's OEM nylon filter and base for my 1986 064AV, now on my 1992 066 RL hybrid.
Didn't need Intelli air compensation back in 1986 and don't need it now.
I clean my nylon filters in a zip lock sandwich bag in a bath of gas mix. Straight gas works better....never thought of using piss before :risas3:

Metal mesh filters do NOT work in Australia.
I have a couple here I got and tested on my 026.
Our timber is so dense that even with the sharpest chain, you get powder like dust with the chips and it goes right on through the mesh like its not there.

Nylon does a good enough job and breathes well. I like the aftermarket 026 nylon filters.
