Here is my minty 385, I built mine as a low top, currently visiting Michigan @huskihl.View attachment 149803 View attachment 149804 View attachment 149805 View attachment 149806

Quadco bar saw head. Biggest one they make.Getting chased by a logmax 7000 fixed head?

390 runs better by about 1mm in bore size to me, stock and ported. So, all of you guys rebuilding these saws...are you doing 385 or 390 top ends? Always heard the 385 top end was better because that's how that model was originally designed.
Interested to hear what you guys have found. Been wanting to do a 385 my own self.
For the machine the head that's on it is perfect. A 32 or 33 inch oak that's tall and straight is about what that machine handles comfortably. If they decide they want bigger cuts Pierce makes a 36” bar vs the 32” quadco.

It's a 745D. All we cut is grade hardwoods.725 or 735?
We don’t see that many bar saw head anymore other then the grapple saw dangle heads, heck not that many fixed heads in general with the guys having to tether the machine too.

Never heard a word. Hoping someday. I did have the serial number. But it’s likely gone...and will never see it in that shape again. LolI'm guessing you never got that one back?
