Just picked up another big stinkin Homelite 990. Still rockin the 42 inch roller nose and original chisel ground 1/2 pitch chain. Complete and in decent shape.

I'm like'n that chisel chain. I bet that is one STRONG cutter. Nice PNW type logging saw.

It's Oregon branded and apparently hard to find. In all my searches I've only foun 10AC chipper so chisel is awesome.

Thats the chain that REALLY makes these gear drives really come alive and actually fast. I've seen a 3100g with 50" bar and 1/2" chisel cut a 48" log faster than my 125 could running .404 chisel. There is really a huge difference between chipper and chisel. Remember those big gear drives can pull a much bigger tooth compared to a direct drive. They were production saws in their day so as with today, time was money.

Shop I worked at previously has a chisel grinder as well so I'm sure I can swindle a sharpening. haha

The owner of a local OPE shop had a stroke and passed away recently. I have been helping the widow a bit sort through some old saws and parts saws, finding a few items for the local historical society and adding a few for my own museum as the same time (LCS, Super EZ, and XL123) as well as a bunch of old Homelite parts saws as well as a few smaller Stihl parts saws.

Today another fellow uncovered this:

As you can likely deduce, never been fueled...

I was wondering what a good running 1050 Auto would be worth. Looks decent piston in good shape.

I need some help with values on three saws, LCS, XL123, and a Super EZ.

All three are a bit dirty from setting around but do turn over. Recoil on the LCS will need some help as it returns very slowly. I did not check spark or compression.

These will be added to my museum and I need to come up with a fair price to give to the lady I got them from.

The super ez in great shape usually go for 75-150. The 123 is a hard one to find but the rest of the xl100 family usually can be had for sub $100 ranges, a little more for a really clean one. I don’t know on the LCS.

We settled up on the saws today, she was quite happy with my offer. A neighbor of mine (he told me to stop and visit her) is helping go through the lawnmowers and related stuff and while I was there we did a little more poking around and found this:

Like the cut off saw, never been fueled.

She also pointed out a quantity of Homelite oil that will also be included in the on line auction when the time comes.

I was wondering if anyone knows the differences between an original ez and an ez6? Looks like they were made at rhe same time. Are they pretty much the same saw? Are they hard to find or worth anything?

Not really sure on value, but from what I understand the ez6 is just a newer model is all. I put mine in the raffle for Leadfarmers daughter.

I've been trying to zero in on a correct replacement sprocket for a real nice later production 150A. I come up with all sorts of part numbers and sources..., occasionally with what seems to be contradictory info on whether a certain sprocket is standard 3/8's or low pro, etc. The IPL's pretty much indicate an A-95619 is what I need, but I come up with several other 'replacements' when I search.

I seem to need a standard 3/8's 7t for this thing, but the cutters look like low pro type. Bar seems to have a standard 3/8's sprocket but no identifying numbers on it. Original bar and sprocket. So what did these typically come with when new?

TIA for any enlightenment.

It is standard 3/8 chain, Homelite had reduced teeth size on the 150-super ez saws in their brand chain. The homelite chain comes up on eBay every so often or you you can just run regular 3/8 chain.

So I gather then that a catch-all part number N-157-A7 sprocket will fit the bill as well? It seems to be a Herr or Sabre number that crosses to several of the other Homelite numbers (including A-95619) from what I can tell.
