On this coming Saturday, 10 November 2018, our beloved Corps will be the ripe old age of 243 years. Semper Fi and hand salute to my fallen Marine warrior brothers and sisters who fought in past wars/conflicts, the Devil Dogs who now guard the gates proudly...and to my warrior brothers and sisters who have served in the past and are currently serving now. We shall drink a toast to those brave lives lost and to the brave warriors now who keep the United States Marine Corps the finest fighting force on the planet!

Its kind of an inside joke. Devil dog doesn’t bother me at all. But, quite a few of the new generation of Marines (within the past 4-6 years) complained that Devil Dog was ‘offensive’ and ‘degrading’. We (as Sergeants) used to try to come up with the most offensive and degrading things and call each other that to poke fun at the more sensitive folks. It all boils down to mental toughness. You can call me anything you want; doesn’t bother me. Attempts to teach others that calling people names is an ineffective way to incite a reaction.
