I didn't even know they made kits for the top handle. I received one today, just to look it over. How does it compare to a Farmertech cylinder?

We tried one a few years ago. Typical Hyway in that it looked “ok” and had thick plating with some over-plating in spots. The port edges were a little rough but not the worst.
My shop buddy installed it using the supplied clips despite my objections. It threw a circlip after a few tanks. Customer wasn’t pissed as the shop covered the labor to fix it again.
Ran ok as I recall.

I was going to build a "kit" but I have another 460 tore down and a 261 on the way. I may sell it, but being such an odd ball item I'm probably stuck for awhile lol

Even if it looks good, it has to be timed to know what’s going on.

Only Hyway jug I’ve ever tried was an 028S recently. The piston was of good quality , but the ports were kinda offset and ugly. Even after I fixed the squish, the saw ran terribly.

The saw had 200 psi. I timed it and found 108/136/82. I promptly fixed that, but others that can’t (or don’t know any better) won’t be able to.

Even though they look ok, they are still way off from OEM specs in general.

That seems to almost be the rule with Hyway stuff. Quality of the casting looks great, but the accuracy of the part just isn't there.

You are right that not everyone has the time, desire, tools or knowledge to correct those flaws either.

I'm not good with the timing stuff yet. So I will probably sell it to someone who can make something of it's more than I can.

A tad bit long on the exhaust I'd say .

I didn’t know you were selling it. I was wondering where you bought it and how much it cost?
Why did you buy it if you are just selling it now?
Is it not up to your standards?

I got it because I was considering building a Farmertech 200T, because Hyway cylinders blow Huztls out of the water. I've just decided against it since I picked up this 261.

The cylinder looks great!

Usually an 020 or 200T cooks the piston but more times than not the cylinder can be saved .For that matter so can many Stihl cylinders . Throw in a Meteor piston which often times comes with Caber rings and call it a day .Keeping in mind faulty mains and the resulting seal failures are what killed most of them .----just saying
