The only things I don’t like is the stupid metal chain catcher, the coil wire behind the flywheel just makes it harder to get at and I’m not a fan of needing a clutch tool. Other than that they are awesome saws.


Can the stihl roller catch be adapted to these older spikes? Seems like all you would need are two holes.

I did notice noodling wet poplar (a softer wood) the dumb metal chain catcher has a tendency to clog the chips. Hardwoods it has no problems. I think a roller catch would resolve the issue and may try bolting a stihl one on the 6421 spikes since they already have the holes drilled...

Keep it classy kid and use a husky catcher. And yes I removed the factory catcher after this photo

Looks like those US spikes could be easily made by someone who has access to a CNC CUTTER.
I guess any of those could be copied with some good flat stock metal.
