Got this saw in today filter area looked nasty but wasn't a single piece that made it onto the elbow, really shocked me.

I should inspect the AF's on my PS-7300 & PS-7310.
I run them both with the white fine nylon mesh filter and they have seen their fair share of work since I last checked.

If you want to test your filtration, make a several cuts in dry thick barked pine.

The fine red dust the saw kicks up is tell-tale indicator where the fines are going/getting caught.

You hear such bad things about filters on here, just wanted to give credit to the Jonsered guys l. This is a new to me 2165, that's how it showed up, I was worried when I first tookn the cover off. It will get a new filter regardless.

Best non air injection filter setup I ever used was on a old 930 jonsereds. Rubber seal and screws to tighten it. Stayed clean a long time. I think it was similar to the low top 288 setup. Hi top 288 must be awesome for non air injection.

Here's a "non running" ms461 I got for cheap about a year or so ago. Guy says "well it'll start then die, not sure what's wrong with it. Got it home tossed a new filter on and fresh mix and it ran like a top. Piston looked perfect and compression was great.

It certainly let some fines through but this saw was obviously neglected not to mention that it took a good hit and deformed the filter pretty good.

I think this saw kills more trees, then Most of us guys will do. And it doesn‘t even have an airfilter.

Cant say that about this one. Fines always make it by into carb from around the seal etc when this saw comes in.
