Hi - got a hl-km145 that is slipping as if gears are damaged. But gears all seem ok. Anyone any ideas? Thanks in advance

Make sure the shaft coupling connections are mating correctly and not slipping at the join. You have obviously opened up the gearbox there is the hedge blade G-box, the gear head at the end of the shaft & the articulating gear. Two sets of bearings and planetary bearing in blade box. You may have stripped gears for the articulating feature. I've rebuild a couple and there is a lot going on.

Thanks - stripped it completely and cleaned everything. Large gear at the back has a few teeth partially stripped. Only seen it after cleaned all the grease off. Solved

Ya the pinion gear, I remember heating up the gearbox and to get bearing out & the gears. If you order parts & want to rebuild it I can steer you through it. You'll want to download the workshop hl-km manual with all the diagrams & instructions.

thanks - dont know at the minute whether to buy new gear or not. A little worried the worm gear is a little worn also and could damage the new one. not worth buying both.

Yeah OEM parts in Ireland can add up fast, you often see cheap used units on EBay. I fixed a broken one with OEM gears and AM bearings & I ended up doing OK but I paid $40 for it after a dealer said it was unfixable and the seller on eBay sold it as parts.
