Any of you construction workers use one? I'm debating about trying one out .

We use them for leveling my parents log house. It works very well and has an accuracy of 1/64 inch. Makes adjusting the 44 Jack's alot quicker than a tape measure for sure.

The one we have is a Bosch. Unsure of the model.

If they are accurate enough I think there would be several uses on the job site.

Best thing would be to find the one you think would fit you best and try it out. Im not really in the know about them and what all they can do but the two we have for our application are huge timesavers.

They save lots of time! Pretty fool proof as the eye has to be level or they won't turn on! Thus, no false readings!

I've used my coworkers bosch on a few occasions. His had both distance and angle features we used that were accurate enough for most framing purposes.

Used a buddies DeWalt when we rebuilt the floor joists in my living room to level it out and reinforce it. Was sloped almost 5" before we fixed it. The laser level made finding the truth line a breeze!!

Are you asking about measuring lasers like distometers or leveling lasers? I use both all the time and could probably answer questions you have, at least give my .02s..

I use this one from hilti. I've had it for 6 or so years, which replaced an older more expensive distometer. It's great for takeoffs and measuring jobs, very accurate. Anything more than a 25' tape and I'll use this (mostly). Its good for up to 300' or so but the farthest I've used it is around 100'. Gets pretty shaky trying to hold it still. A little difficult to use in bright sunshine because you cant really see the red dot/laser on whatever you are trying to measure but there are a few tricks you figure out to make due. Hope this helps. 20190212_124027.jpg

I've used them and they do work .Some time ago now maybe 10-12 years I was involved in the installation of a 300 million dollar new auto engine assembly line .This entailed over 40 thousand feet of 3 conductor 500 mcm armored cable at 20 bucks a foot .We used the devices to measure the cable tray runs so as to minimize the waste .The electrical portion of that job came in at close to 20 million under budget and we worked a bunch of over time ,almost unlimited 7-12's .
