The above SEZ has a single length of line filter to carb.

Hope that helps.

I’ve been using Echo line for most everything lately. 7/64” x 13/64”

I used an old stihl fuel line with molded in grommet for the tank fitting cut both line ends off and ran a piece of tygon through it. Saw runs well but has no business wearing a 16” bar.

I've been using the Echo fuel line as well on all the smaller saws. I also use
Honda fuel line on most of the larger saws. Works well and fits excellent.
Much better than the tygon stuff plus it's black and looks factory.

Picked up a Zip saw the other day and I found some HL 46B carb kits and got the carb rebuilt. But I have three questions. 1) Why would it be both red and blue? I thought all Zip saws were blue, unless other saw parts. 2) Where is there a good source for starter paws? I may need a new cup but the paws I have seem short. 3) How in the heck can I soak the gas tank to remove that old sludge? Its like that old grease that has been on for years but inside hard to get. All Zip saws are blue, but the 600D is basically the same saw in Red. The starter paws are Fairbanks Morse, you can clean up the edge with a flat file, the cup is hard to come by. Make sure there is no oil or grease on the friction washers under the paw base, if there is it will not rotate properly and will not catch.

Make sure that the pawl isn't installed backwards. The sharp edges need to extend and bite into the cup when you pull the rope. I picked up a saw the other day that the previous owner drilled two holes 180° apart in the starter cup and installed a pop rivet in each hole. Works pretty good.

I must have flipped those paws 6 times and still didn't work but when I get ready to put it all back together I'm going to go without any oil. I've been oiling the heck out of it and like Kysawman says no friction with oil. Got the thing ready to paint soon, will get pics soon. Thanks guys.

I have had good success by cleaning the friction washers with carb cleaner, letting them dry and then scuffing them up with some sand paper. They should engage quickly with a sharp pull. I've a couple setups with worn cups. With a sharp leading edge and clean/rough (old) friction washers, they still manage to grab well.

File the edge at 45 deg. to a narrow edge but not sharp.

I prick punch the engagement surface of the ‘cup’ every 1/16” or so.

No oil!!! Only a spot of grease on the pulley spindle and silicon lube on a CLEAN spring.

New friction washers used to be on Partstree.com.

Pull gently to engage and then rip.

I still don't have a handle on the model of this saw. Zip or 600D. Painted blue and red. Whats up? Any way to find year by serial num?DSCF2537.JPG DSCF2541.JPG DSCF2540.JPG

Going to paint blue and reline the gas tank. What was tank material to use? I lost that in the brain hard drive. Do yall think I can make this spring work? Anyone need any carb parts or springs and things, got plenty. The man I got all these Tillotson parts off of went through every kit and took one or two parts out of. But can put one kit together I have done. One more question is what was the paint that someone used to pain there's? Don make me re read all that.DSCF2536.JPG DSCF2538.JPG DSCF2539.JPG
