Got one from Indiana or the great white north. More like Richmond Indiana. 1962 Tecumseh with the wind up starter. Cast aluminum deck with a transmission. Richmond was considered the Lawn mower capital of the world at one time. Moto Mower Bicycle Handles.DSCF2551.JPG DSCF2582.JPG DSCF2549.JPG DSCF2550.JPG

I bought this yesterday and can't find anything on Google about it the tag reads Fred L Sandidge Cleveland Tenn. it's the easiest pushing mower I've ever used. The wife tried it and said it was easier to push than her vacuum. Does anyone on here have any info about this oddball?View attachment 17648
...hey did you happen to find info on this easy roll I also have one an this is the only other I found

27162A67-6D7A-48E3-BF0D-D8673E5EFD25.jpeg Hey, haven’t posted in a long time but I came across another 22”Bunton front drive mower. I thought it would be a runner but it’s not. Does anyone have an idea what Briggs engine I can use for it? It has the side shaft for the pulley that drives the front wheels. Above is the engine it came with.

I've seen take off Briggs engines of that sort on the Small Engine Warehouse site.

It was kind of funny on the previous .That pressure washer came with all the nozzles but only 25 feet of pressure hose .So I asked Roy about a longer hose .He said how about 50 feet of Goodyear 3000 PSI for 5 bucks --sold .I was going to drive back the 60 miles home and come back with my truck ,he said that big trunk on the 90 Caddy would get er-done.Took the handle off and both of us lifted that heavy pup in and off I went .Problem was I had to wrestle that heavy pot licker out of the trunk by myself . The trunk of a Cadillac is not the easiest thing to unload I found out .

That reminds me of a time when I hauled a complete 409 Chevy in the trunk of my 67 Impala and another when I hauled two small block Chevys in my mom's 76 Nova hatchback. My cherry picker took down with pins and fit laying across the back seat of that Impala.

Thanks! I’ll check it out. I actually have a mid 80s Briggs with a side shaft for a pulley but it’s not going to work. Just a little bit off. I appreciate the help.
IF memory serves me, Briggs built engines with the side PTO available in either rotation, So be sure you get an engine with the correct PTO rotation. This allowed for a choice of whether the cylinder was front or rear facing.
My rear wheel drive, Hahn-Eclipse has a rear facing cylinder so the PTO was backwards ( and reverse rotation) from the front driven mowers.
The PTO shaft is just a spiral worm that runs against the strait toothed cam gear.
There's a fair bit of tooth to worm clearance due to the different types of teeth and was why they had that noisy whine from them while running.

Less sure on this detail, but there --Might-- have been a couple of different rotation speeds of PTO vs crankshaft rpm ratios also.
Seems like that speed option may have only been the Horizontal crankshaft models. (room for an extra gear in the housing and No 90 degree shaft angles to be dealt with)
Been about 35 years since I had to look up the details when replacing one of the side PTO, vertical Crankshaft engines.
So I'm a bit fuzzy on the full details.

I have many oddities. There's my tall grass machine...

big-foot-lawn-tractor.jpg

and my wet grass machine...

big-foot-lawn-tractor2.jpg

and my first push mower that was kind of primitive, but provided more fertilizer than just plane ol' clippings ...

goat-mower.jpg

and there's the one I use for trimming hedges...

But my favorite one is actually the first riding mower I ever got...
