Two words, judgement call.
Dave just gave you the answer. Your perspective needed to change to make a fair assessment.

So from what I see, that corner really is in the way.

Which is funny, because some of the info out there shows it in place still.

How I think Mdavelee is suggesting it should be. I think this is Randys

And the other way I have seen, I think this is Carls

There is no right or wrong answer. One way has more piston support and different things going on. When the piston changes so does the whole air/fuel entry surrounding the transfer primary.

I think it's simply going to stuff mucho air fuel in through the primary T port. Once it can flow.
That makes sense. Are you keeping the stock zama carb or upgrading? That is the next subject I’m interested in hearing about in this thread. Seems like the stock zama is ok for a worksaw. I know I’ve heard the common hd12 swap, pole man modded zama, rwj swap or a 385xp carb.

I'm for sure going to keep the zama. The tutorial @Poleman did is super detailed. I'm going to run the saw first with the stocker...and see if I need a 35-35 or a 30-35 or a 30-40, I'm unsure :)

I'm certain the zama is plenty of carb. Messing with linkage and trying to make another fit doesn't seem worth it.
