I met up with the owner of the Husky 350 today! The story was a branch fell on it and now it runs but the clutch wont spin. Racked my brain for two days along with a few of you guys! Well I looked at it and gave him the $25 he was asking. Came with a 18" bar and newer Stihl chain. Upon inspection the handle was bent and the front bar stud was pushed into the tank. I tried to put the clutch cover on but the brake was engaged. When I noticed that I spun the clutch and it was free. That's when I thought it's time to pick up my new saw and shake hands and leave. I stopped at parking lot with good lighting on the way home. She fired up and the clutch spins just fine! So my guess is the branch hit the saw and bent the top handle and engaged the brake. He hot the throttle and the chain didnt spin. He then took the clutch cover off to check it out. I bet he had to pry off the cover and that's how the bar stud made its was into the oil tank. Here it is. It will soon have a 346 p/c on it!

I may be interested if we can barter a spell.
What do you mean when you say, the price is Firm. don't ask?
I thought in america we could put a bid or two in on stuff you really like or wanted to grow old with.

    Thanks,
    Reggie

Need some input. Looking on CL a 445 Xtorque, 3 years old, 18”, 2 extra chains. Guy says it fires up but shuts off after a minute or 2. What should I look for as the problem and how much should I offer him. @PA Dan passed so I might snag it to flip. Thanks.

I'd hazard a guess of gunky carb from setting to long full of gas and the diaphragm is to stiff to work correctly.

But you get all that “free” wood. It’s a shame seeing all those dilapidated houses in the background.
He already knows how much it will cost, or at least a rough idea, that's why he went this route.
Yes, it's a rough hood for sure .

I would guess it's the tank vent being plugged if it will run for a few minutes, that would be an easy fix, could be a coil too, hard to tell unless you hear it run.
I'm sure a carb kit wouldn't be much, but I'd just sell it just like it is, take a picture of the piston and check compression and it will sell.
I wouldn't offer him anything, just ask him where he's at with the price, if he says 50, sounds good to me, if he wan't the moon, then let someone else get it.

I’m slowly learning from you guys, those were my thoughts. Offered him $50, said he wouldn’t go lower than $100, told him good luck. Big flea market tomorrow, maybe I can find something there.

Best answer “For parts or repair. Use to work a long time ago but it don't now. needs work. seems to have ”:2guns:.

Those are great saws for the class of saw(nut I ain't paying that for a broke down one), I've cut quite a bit of wood with them and the newer flippy cap versions).
I gave a farmer we get raw milk from an 039 a while ago, he brought it over after telling me it was seized. I pulled the muffler which was loose because it had a broken stud(I guess that's somehow better than a husky loosing nuts :cunaooooo:), and while he was running to the store for the studs and some recoil parts(wasn't seized) I did a little modding on the muffler. Once he got back I zapped it all together and tuned it real quick and she was running great again. Last time I seen him he asked what I did to it and said it's running better than before, and thanked me again for it :).
