Good morning guys,
We've got windy day, dunno if I want to do anything today. Right now just enjoy some coffee!
Morning bud. What did doctor say about your heart or was it just your back like you thought

Would like to hear an explanation on the piston shape.

Here it is next to the 562XP piston. It appears to be a very standard strato piston when compared with the 550 and 562XP's.

The upper dish is the traditional piston porting for crankcase charge and the lower dish is the actual strato ports that intake fresh air charge.

Beyond that, I haven't gotten too far into these new fangled gizmos, so someone else will probably chime in and clear things up more.

That's half the weight of the saw right there lol. The lightest saw ever...

Guess they had to add weight somewhere...but even so, it's still light weight when compared

FYI: The 562XP piston weighs 82g and the 462 96g.

For every cc, the 562 is 1.371~g piston weight (82/59.8cc)
For every cc, the 462 is 1.329~g piston weight (96/72.2cc)

Me thinks Stihl R&D made a lot the last few years in overtime wages...

Lol my response was probably more so from the other thread where they can't shut up about weight lol. Absolutely nothing towards you or even Stihl for that matter.

Yeah.....oooops. That wasn't directed at you either buddy. I was just throwing out random BS in the same post. Lol.

Sometimes I get to racing when I'm throwing out stats and chit.

Yep. I'm laughing at some of those 'armchair' quarterbacks in the 572/462 threads.
