if the 462 retails around $1100 and I cant get it for significantly less I will buy a 7910 or 565/572. they need to be price competitive I already bought a 7910 over a 461 specifically because of the price difference. really liked the 461 but I couldn't justify to myself spending hundreds more for it vs the dolmar/Makita 7910 price/value matters to me

That thing torn down yet?

no

Maybe US will be like Russia and get a non M-tron version.

some of these guys just need to go back to using a cross cut. light, not as noisy, easy on fuel, gas gaps don't fall off, cheaper, sounds like what there looking for to me.

I get what your saying but a little more to it than that for me. I have had some saws let me down because of the electronics. I like technology BUT it has to work every time anything less and I would rather do without it there are plenty of great running saws without it. Not being able to start my saw halfway threw a job doesn't exactly make it more productive even if it was cutting really good up until then:)

You mean if you pay 1000 dollars for a chainsaw it's supposed to run all the time ?

I haven't seen a saw yet that doesn't break down, unless it never gets used.

I got to see our regional sales rep and he said the 461 is going to coexist with the 462.

Did he lie to us?

I would say there is no way to know right now. Did he have a release date for the 462? I haven’t seen any reliable dates for US yet.

In Europe the 461 had a very short run aferter the release of the 462 before it was delisted.

Do you still have a 372 to compare to it?

I have a 346, ported 562, stock 372, and a stock 6400c is my running saws at the moment. 460 needs a crank and the 660 I don’t know what it’s deal is. But I’ve only run maybe 3 gallons of saw gas this year. I’ve not had time to cut and saws have been way down on the importance this year.
