It's been a long few weeks, I'm working big hours, away from home. This is my second day back in quite a few weeks. Stopped by the post office to collect my mail and there's a box from Canada. I'm racking my brains that are not the sharpest at the best of times but I've been doing some crazy hours and my head is fried anyway, trying to remember what I ordered from Canada.
Get home, open the box and :
But wait, there's more...
There's a letter in there from NZ Customs/Bio security saying they have withheld a wooden bowl they need to "heat treat" before I can have it.
So, I get a cool fridge magnet (it's already got pride of place on the fridge), a license plate that's going to go on a trailer I am hoping to build for towing my kayak down to the local boat ramp next Summer, a postcard and a sticker (which I'll keep until that perfect use comes along, I'll know when it does).
And I get to look forward to my wooden bowl once I pay 'the man' to treat it before sending it on to me.
How bloody awesome is all this? All unsolicited.
Thomas (@Yukon Stihl), thank you so much for all this and your letter. I'm really touched by the gesture and feel all warm and fluffy inside. I think only the Aussie and Kiwi members here will understand this reference but if we had a pool room your gifts would be going straight to it. That's the highest honour one can bestow upon a gift.
