image.jpg Stock squishimage.jpg trimmed off a tab on gasket to measure itimage.jpg final outcome. Is this a safe number for a final out come on a gasket delete? Would the gasket under the jug be thinner leaving me a point or two leway over the trimmed tab i measured thats never been compressed? I know everyone shoots for .020. Thats y i ask.

You are fine. Everyone shoots for .020, but .016/.017 is still safe. My MS 440 is .019, never a problem.

Also, the solder is not 100% accurate. Often deleting a .020 gasket will only make a .017 difference.
Cool i thought it would be fine. Ive read some stuff about timing advance after a delete but im on the fence. Some say to never mess with saw timing. Some say advance others say u should actually retardo_O timing. Im not at that level yet of shaving keys and yada yada... just lookin for real ideas in the now and not posts from 2011.

I would put it together and check it again, on a 50cc saw some guys go even tighter, my 361 is at .017, 0ne of my 660’s is .019 and it’s all stock, I was shocked that stock squish was .019!!

So I just realized I’ve had this old Dolmar cut-off saw sitting under the bench for awhile. Cleaned it off a touch and found the model: 343. Never heard of a 343 so I googled it.......

Its a Dolmar 143! I have been searching for a 143 cyl for the 133 I picked up last year and I’ve had one sitting under the bench almost the whole time!!!!

I’ll see what other parts swap over as well

It is together.....i stuck the solder in through the plug hole and up against the cyl. Wall. This is preliminay to see if it was doable. And with those specs u have id say im in the clear. Cold comp is at 160 psi rite now. What do u think a resonable expectation is with a delete?

I have zero experience with a 351, but it sounds about right for comp, most of my saws have gained 15-20 psi with a base gasket delete, ms461 went from 160 to 175 psi and I had an 024 that went from 140-155

I need to go back through several saws I did years ago and make some changes, I need to test more timing on a few, and check the port timing
Im not that far yet. Playing with lil cheap saws. Serious work is left to the pros. I just pay the bill and run the trigger:D
