The later Super 797's didn't have the 66251 #, I'd say that's what you have.
What carb is on it? Nice score for sure as well as the 125's.

I'll have my cousin send me some pics of that saw. He kept that one to give to his brother (a mcculloch junkie) along with 2 890s. I don't know how he comes across these deals all the time. But this makes at least 6 125s now that i know of that have passed through his hands in the last couple of years.

Keep in mind the Mcculloch made millions of 125's. It was a long run
from 1971 to 77. Back in the day on the west coast there was almost a
Mcculloch dealer on every street corner. Seems that the 125 is about
the most popular muscle saw today as everyone wants one and they
are the easiest to find. If I were in your area I would be knocking on
every barn I could find.

Good info, I didn’t know that about the late product 797 supers! I have a cp125 block, well pretty sure, that has an odd number that doesn’t come up in anything I could find, I am sure it is somewhere, but the only number I could find the same number was a kart block, but it isn’t that for sure!

That one looks like it paid for it self. Hope the pic is a before not an after rebuild.
I've had my hands in quite a few of the earlier ones and they can be a challenge
if your not patient.

So many hate those minis but they are such a light powerful saw for their weight. I have a 12" bar on mine running VXL chain. It cuts very well.

Here it is all cleaned up and ready to go. I had to replace the seals and ultimately change the carburetor since someone had broken off the idle speed adjust screw in the original. I wanted to make this saw complete and a runner...mission accomplished. I may never use it but it will be ready if I ever need it. The worst Mini Mac is the original MM6 with the starter fixed in the housing, you have to align the fins on the flywheel with the starter clutch to get that one in and out of the housing...very trying indeed. The SP40 and the PM510 are the easiest since the cover comes off over the carburetor making it possible to remove the carburetor without dismantling the entire saw. (just ignore that green saw in the background...it is one I do use when I have to go up in the air)

I drank nearly a 5th once but don't remember much after that .Not to worry I too have more than just McCullochs .

Just picked this up on eBay. This will be my first big McCulloch project. I'm really excited. While doing a little research on this model one thing Lee said really stood out. It went something like this... The 99cc saws are strong but.....then You'll want a 123cc. Oh geeezzz. Deep down I know he's right

The 740 is a nice saw and has plenty of old school grunt if running properly. Your saw looks like a great project.

Just got a new addition to the collection. I picked up a Pro Mac 10-10 for $50. Fired on the 6th pull and ran on the 7th. It revs well and settled into a stable idle. I'm happy!!! Now my Pro Mac 60 has a little brother....0716181756-00.jpg

Has its original flatback primer carb which fortunately doesn’t leak. Rebuilt the carb, replaced the wrap handle and fan housing and it looks a lot better. Set up with a 50” Cannon bar in the pic, and will be fitted out with a loop of Oregon 1/2” chipper.

The model 895 in how many rpm and hp is rated I have looked in acres and does not put anything.
