I come here from treebuzz where i posted a thread on a saw issue, woodpecker recommended me to join here to get some Good advice.

Long story short(prob not), was on a job taking Down 5 trees, while blocking Down the laste tree my Husqvarna 560 suddenly shut off, tried pulling start string But coudnt move it an inch.

I bought this saw on an auction, i have about 30 hours on it, it ran strong until the second it siezed. dont Know alot about it other than it a 560xpg and i saw a 2015 stamp on a part when i disassembled it.

Took my saw apart, Reason for piston seizing looks obvious(pictures below). Crap stopped my crank from being able to turn.

I dont know what that *s-word is, pardon my language, or how it Got there.
I thought it was Bendt metal, but it Burns like plastic and looks like plastic when i break it.

After removing the plastic stuff from the crank piston could move again.

Its all over my cumbustion chamber and my cylinder. Any ideers to get it off?
My tool situation is normal home tools, dremmel, drillpress and so on, no lathe or bigger machine shop tools.

Best regards

Ben

I wonder if that plastic is from the crankstuffers? Screenshot_20180621-171354_Samsung Internet.jpg

If it got hot enough to melt that then I'd be looking at replacing the crank bearings and seals.

And maybe you could knock the other stuffer out to help "balance the crank" ? I'm not to familiar with these saws. But if it was me I'd be getting a new crank and bearings, seals and piston.

It would basically turn it into a 555 if you removed the stuffers. As for the melted plastic, try loosening it in a ultrasonic cleaner then chip it off carefully is what I’d attempt to do. I’d venture to guess that saw was abused before you got it.

The crank stuffer is a performance enhancer by reducing crankcase volume and is a replaceable part 505 13 36 01. This will require a complete tear down and rebuild.

Once again Husqvarna makes stuff easy to fix!

Thx for all the answers :).

So to summerize What i should Do to my saw to get it running Well again

Clean cylinder

Parts that needs changing

Piston assembly

Change crank assembly or, 3 bearings, 2 seals, 1 cup with stuffer.

Im looking at hlsupply, the prices are Nice compared to prices in Europe.

https://www.hlsproparts.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=575-38-02-18&CartID=4

Is that a housing with complete crankshaft or is it just the housing?

Best regards

It is a complete bottom end with a crankshaft but it is for the 562 and is large mount, not small mount like the 560.

Wow how is the assembly cheaper than the crank?

Damm You guys are Quick to respond.

Yeah ease of fix would be my Reason to get it.
Oh yeah that should have been obvious to me:facepalm:. So i guess Thats out of the picture, as You say, diff bar, diff airfilter and prob more diff, its not a cheap option if i have to change half the saw .

There’s a point where you have to step back and realize when a saw isn’t worth rebuilding. That is one of those saws. It looks like it lived a hard life to say the least. I would keep it as parts saw, it would be useful to just keep around for that purpose. Especially if you were to buy another 5 series.
