Cost wise. The eBayed one makes more sense then asking a favor. Expensive filler rods. Shipping.

The big ouch is bearings and seals. Am is cheap but. Does it hold up?

IIRC I found some excellent quality bearings on feebay, I believe they were slacker, for $14. Seals, I would prefer to use OEM or a QUALITY AM, (I have had several bad AM seals right out of the box) but to each his own.

Looks nice Curt.

Thanks!!

Hopefully my “custom” decal for the air filter cover is done Thursday morning and I can ship it Thursday afternoon. Its a surprise birthday present for my brother; a replica of the saw he and I grew up and learned how to cut with. With some minor “massaging” of course.

I know it fought you, but it turned out great. Good job on bringing that one back.
Thank you very much. It means a lot to me.

This was a labor of love and forgive me for doting on it, but I am PROUD of it. I have confidence in my heart that it can and WILL be handed down to my nephew when the time comes.

To be 100% honest I didn’t know if I was capable of building a saw that was worthy or capable of being handed down. People like Mastermind, Moparmyway, Doc, Miller mod, Tree Monoey and others who have done build threads and took the time to break it down “Barney style” for us non-saw-gurus are the ones who deserve the credit. You all took the time to take pictures and write/type everything out and make tutorials for us ‘dummies’. Those people are cited by name because they contributed in one form or another to this saw, wether they know it or not. I am completely and totally honest when I say that none of the builds I have done, especially this one, could have been accomplished with out this Forum and AS and the members who take the time and effort to share their knowledge. For that, I am eternally grateful to everyone.

Truth from the heart. I know there are a bunch of people I didn’t mention, you being one, who contributed. Much thanks to all.

Yes many great folks on here, if I had to make a list I would be up all night and probably still not done come the morning.

How about my GFY's???They seem to help

Well, I mean, being from up North GFY is more of an expected part of conversation. Fits right into daily interactions as much as “Good morning”, “Hello”, “Hold my beer and watch this”, “Hey, Y’all”, “How’s yer mom an dem”, “You got a purdy mouth” does for you southerners......
