No as Jon said he's from Hamilton which is about 50 min west of my place, this is north and slightly east of my place about 3 hrs from me and about and 45min east of @huskihl .
Yep. Gaylord is a half hour East of me.
Saw looks clean, but what's up with the filter cover? More flow?

I talked with him and his brother before, it is his brothers saw. He said he probably has the other handle for it.
I talked with his brother a good bit last summer.
We may be working out a trade, we'll see.

Would be neat to get it and have a builder here tear it down and see what a $1000 port job is all about. Has he sent you any other pictures? Would be interesting if the billet muff cover (in video) was still on it or not

I'm guessing sold out of the proper Maxflo for it and modded an 064 one fit poorly...

What is with the piss rev without the clutch cover, I've never seen that before and only heard or horror stories and launched e-clips...

Also pulling the recoil out to stop it???

I've been told that he pulls on the rope to keep the starter paws from catching.

Like Wayne said, as the pawls rotate slower upon shutdown, they can close and grab the recoil just before the saw comes to a complete stop. The only saws that I know of where this might be a factor are a 394/5, and a dolmar 7900. I'm sure there are many more, but not on a Stihl in the last 30 years

I always though that was a bunch of nonsense, then to happened to me on a 7910, ripped the cord through the handle .

They are loggers so I wouldn't be surprised if it's had some hard use on it. They both said it probably only had around 100hrs on it.
I didn't even notice the filter cover, all those stihls look kinda goofy to me:risas3:.

Do those look better o_O.

I thought about that to, now to find a builder, and one close to it :icon_popcorn:.
No, Just the video, I'm supposed to send him some.
Chris said that he dries the hole in the cover, then just tacks the pipe in 3 places and that they come loose pretty quick. He said they like to tig them to the cover and then drill the hole out when they do them on their saws. They run primarily 661's logging, last fall I was going to buy a couple 390s off them as they bought them and weren't pleased with them, but I lost all my text messages and lost his number.
