got a Husky 455 with a bad fuel tank vent. tried to pull the vent out( needle nose pliers) but the "nipple" broke off in the process..
how do you remove and replace the tank vent on this series saw. ?
Google was no help and youtube giggled at me...

Soak it in some pb blaster then try what Jim said is what I’d do.

No o ring, just a tight fit! Poor poor design by my favourite brand. Every one over time leaks. The engineer in charge of that one should have been sacked

Hello Angelo ( my low fun friend ). You must be Doc Al's big brother... Lol.

Your husqvarna tank vent is the same part number used on husqvarna 346/353 saws. Part number: 537 35 95-01

The tank vent is only finger tight to the case, there is no o-ring on it. Use a dry wall screw and thread it onto the vent. Then use a good pair of vise grip and pull that dry wall screw out like you mean it..... It will come out.

When you are ready to install the new tank vent, clean the case hole with a little acetone. I use a q-tip with acetone to clean the surface. I then put a very thin layer of permatex ultra black silicone on then vent, then press the vent back into its original position. Hopes this help.

Jack

Does anybody know where they leak from ? Sounds like where the vent meets the tank . Probably from aging out.
As opposed to the nipple area. Yeah seems like a weak design where an o ring might have worked...

They seem to shrink with age.
Like it was said above, clean really good and a little Motoseal or Black permatex to hold them in.
