The busted crank end is an easy fix. I'm running one in my saw that was like that. Welded it up and cut the groove back in with a Dremel.

The crank separation is another can of worms. I'd guess it got hot in order for that to happen but who knows.

I wonder if the tip would have to be hardened. Way above my paygrade.
Remembering back, seems like mild steel is in the 40k lb tensile strength area.
I believe mig wire is in the 70k range
