Hi all,

grabbed my 2014 TS420 cutoff saw today and it wouldn't start. Last fall it was put away in working condition. It had a very small quantity of original Stihl premix fuel/Motomix. So I don't expected a clogged carburetor.
It sparks and fuel is present in the cylinder (not flooded). I checked the spark plug and it sparks but not very strong. Compression is good. The cutoff microswitch works and both blue and brown wires are ok.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot.

I would drain the tank of fuel. Pull the plug out and pull it over several times both vertical and upside down. Leave plug out for several hours. Then put a small dash (teaspoon) of mix down the plug hole. Screw plug in quickly put wire on and pull her no choke till she fires and burns the fuel out. Then refill the tank reprime thru the plug and fire her again and try and fether the throttle till she takes off and runs normal.

@smokey7 , thanks for the advice. This is a complete new procedure for me. I'll get right to it and "I'll be back"

@smokey7 , thank you very much. I've got back a normal starting and running TS420. I did just what you wrote and let it bake dry the entire Sunday. Today poured a teaspoon of motomix in the sparkplug hole and it started on the first pull. The only explanation I've is that the tin shed is way to warm for this machine. When the sun is on the shed it really is an oven. Perhaps the pressure of the gas disrupts the carp. But I removed the cap the relief the pressure.

Anyway problem solved,

thanks again!
