It seems to be built on the same platform at the saw in my profile picture?

Mine's an Echo 350TES, as sold here. I think that in the US, they were called a 360TES?

Mine is 10 years old. It's still my favorite saw by a very long margin!

I also have a 360TES (as sold here), which I think you call a 355TES in the US?

Today, I cut some VERY hard wood. And I do mean HARD. I started off with the newer saw (355TES) & it simply could not cope with the hardness of the wood, which was extremely disappointing, as you can imagine!

So, out comes the older saw, which really is beyond it's working life, and earned the money for me.

Yup, I've had no problems with the 355T in that kind of wood. I can use it day in, day out cutting most exotic trees. I've had the saw near 3 years now. But some of our native trees are quite a bit harder than those. This one was a Eucalyptus albopurpurea - which was insanely hard. The 355T was wearing a 12" bar & a Stihl chain - the stump was around 15" & the saw bogged & bogged & bogged! (please realise that want this saw to perform, as I spent the $$$ buying it). I put the saw aside & picked up my old 360T & it took a while, but it got the job done. The old saw was wearing the original 14" Echo bar & the same Stihl chain.

@Red97 Do you think there's any gains to running the filter open on a ported 590.20180424_134626.jpgYou can pop the black piece out of the cover and run it down to just hold the filter. Wouldn't run it that way all the time but for playing in the cants at GTGs any gain helps. 20180313_100717.jpgAlso do you think cutting the tube out is the best muff mod? My saw just has the baffle plates inside hogged out. Thank you for any response.

I have removed the filter piece before. I'm sure it helps a little, but the saw is a bit of a spitter. Saturated the filter with fuel in short order. Didn't really care for that.

I haven't removed the tube. Just added a couple holes or a slot by the tube exit under the deflector.

I dunno if this is a Canadian saw or not, but it has the metal vanguard. Maybe they never come.with chainbrake's? The new 1201's I've seen pictures of don't seem to have a chainbrake.

Picked up echo's budget saw to test out.
Got a stock poulan 3750 TABB to test against it. Know how it stands up against 262 036

So far been impressed stock with 20" buried in dry ash log. Me and a logger that was in for some work gave it alittle test session.

Now to find the 620.

The saw pictures is a 1001: The 1201 is a bigger Saw physically, & the clutch cover is larger.
