They turn up on evilbay once in a while.

Make certain the bronze bushing is present. Worthless without it.

I just got this one. Is there a good fix for the starter pawl set up? It came with the original roller nose as well.20180321_173514.jpg 20180321_174010.jpg

The friction washers on the Fairbanks Morse starter need to be clean and dry. NO OIL!!!

File the engagement ends of th he ‘magic fingers’ on a 45 deg angle. Narrow but not sharpe.

Do not make them shorter!

Thank you very much for the info. It's a good looking old saw, and would like to make a runner out of it.

The starter cups (aluminum) get hammered/chewed from yanking on the rope.

Best to pull to engage and then rip. [emoji106]
Got the starter system working good, and it fires on prime. The carb won't pump fuel on its own. The diaphragm is stiff so soaking in mix right now. Do you know what hl kit is correct for this saw? Thank you again for the help.
