that is correct Steve, year 90 week 24.
Most of the times the crank stamp is just a few weeks older then the serial tag.
When the s/n is lost it's the way I verify a saw on them 2xx serie. It's a bit easier on the 3xx serie saws since they added the s/n under the front mount for the handle, amd the crank is marked the same way as the 2xx serie

Pic of the clutch cover? Not sure what else would interchange that didn't have an integrated chain brake. Oldest IPL I've seen is from 1980 and includes the chain brake. Newer plastic handle versions are still available. Ignitions were a problem with those but are also available AM. Ya keepin' it?

So, iffin I want a chain brake, I can slap a later aftermarket one on there.

Could probably even find an OEM metal flag version if you're patient. Think I'd keep it original with the Practica cover that's on it if it were me. And if it has a spur sprocket setup, there's a rim kit from Oregon to convert it if you would want to. Two crank sizes so ya gotta know which one. I'll take a wild-ass guess yours has the early one. LOL I've rebuilt a couple of these and they're easy and fun to work one. Not the sexiest of the older Huskys but I like em anyway. Happiest with an 18" b/c setup when all is said and done.

61:
Carb rebuilt and he will run on my ketchup bottle. Waiting on a proper fuel line and filter.

Early oil tank cap smaller than later models? This one had a rubber stopper for a lid. [emoji849]

10-4 on the oil cap. Here's some material on the early black top if it may come in handy for ya.

Anyone have the Oregon # for the early rim drive kit for this 61?

Not a big Bailey's fan, but the info is correct. Think I used Frawley's Saw Shop (Loggerchain.com). Good prices and fast shipping.
