I bet big 3 spend more money on figuring out if there junk is going to make it out of warranty than actually making stuff right lol.
Part of the fine points of competition, I suppose. I think Subaru has done a pretty good job with their smog stuff.

A couple of things I am glad are standardized are back-up cameras and the LATCH kid seat attachment system. Both have made my life easier. I have a camera kit to install in the Mother Ship, have yet to finish it. I guess there were far more instances of people backing over their own (or worse, someone else's) kids than anyone would like to admit. Imagine explaining that one.... "Well, uh, ya see, I was in a hurry, and, well, uh, er, um...." That would be a bit awkward.

Those things are nice and making backing up in parking garages easy.

I had an 08 deleted duramax that I really liked but I decided it was time to upgrade so I purchased a year old ram and while I have been a gm guy I do like this new ram. Not sure I’m going to deal with deleting this one but you never know
If you decide to delete it let me know I know a guy ;) does that one have the aisin trans or the 68rfe?

Just the 68rfe. Take what you when get when buying used.
The 68 has it's weak links but more can be done with it whereas the aisin we can't do anything to it bc the computer hasn't really been hacked yet. I'm fixn to rebuild a 68rfe in dad's truck soon. Gonna upgrade it while I got it out with some better parts.

I chipped a friends 2017 with the Aisin, we used a Bully Dog tuner. It made a bit of a difference in power but nothing for fuel mileage. Also the process is horrible and not well documented.

Or, for perspective, the delete(s) on my 4x4, crew-cab, flatbed dually, were done before I got it. No idea what the mileage was lie prior to that. The flatbed added weight, but also added versatility and usability for me. I see between 8-14mpg. But, it pulls anything I want. With the way the EPA junk was configured for that engine (a forced band-aid not quite ready for production) it liked to plug the oil cooler, which would then not allow the EGR cooler to work (which would also plug up) and the would eventually lift the heads. In other words, about a $3-5K fix. Studding it is a $4K fix and you do it once, plus gain power, responsiveness and dependability.

@teacherman - Just out of curiosity, is Emerson, named for Ralph Waldo Emerson?
Nope. Nothing nearly so esoteric as all that LOL
His grandpa Doyle grew up real hard, third grade education, on his own at fifteen, overcame a he¬¬ of a lot to be a good father to Nancy. He's dead, but Emerson's middle name is Doyle, I insisted on that. My own father was a lameaßß who left his family, so he gets no recognition. The first name had to go well with Doyle. I wanted to name him Attila, but the Queen vetoed that one, and she didn't think much of Shelton (after Hank 3) either. So, I came up with Emerson, and the Queen said yes, that's it. I thought "Attila the Honey" had a nice ring to it, and it turns out his relentless vital force would make it an apt moniker, but since Nancy was the one actually producing the progeny, she got veto power over my naming mischief.

However, right after he popped out, I went to wash him off with the nurse. Nancy had already instructed them to not let me sign any papers if they had to knock her out, but I got the nurse
to write up a bassinet tag with Attila on it, and when we got back with a clean Primate, I told Nancy some lady from the county had brought over some papers, and then showed her the name tag.

Regarding RWE, ya oughta look up what the disgusting libertine Algernon Swinburne wrote of him. It's in a gem entitled The Little Book of Venom: A Collection of Historical Insults. An absolute riot.

Actually, I found it here.

I replaced the water pump and thermostat on the dually only to find that I still have a small coolant leak somehow off the front of the engine. I'm not sure if it's the lower radiator hose or what, but it seems to be a dynamic leak, not a static one. Have to check the lower radiator hose, and then I'm not sure. The upper hoses are fine and the t-stat housing is dry. I know that I torqued everything to spec, so I am a bit confuse and pissed.

I’m surprised someone else even knew that about Hank the 3rd, you must be a fairly big Hank Williams fan? I am, actually like all 3 of them and Hank JR’s daughter is good too

I've used a few of the bulldogs per customer requests but have never like them. They won't time enough for my liking and are 50 state legal so emissions stay on. Matter of fact the last one helped finish clogging a dpf system because it wouldn't let it be removed. But they have a place being used only and a set of gauges imo. I have a couple of companies I deal with with a very nice tuner for up to current cummins. They do custom tuning per my or customers request. Very safe to do.

I saw Jett in concert twenty-some years ago. I like Hank and Hank 3 a lot, used to be a Hank 3 fanatic, not so much now, because the Queen doesn't care much for his rebellious ways, being the sane, stable person she is.

I spent an hour in a mosh pit at age 55, with my then 16 year old stepson at this show. Banged a lot, didn't fall down once, even managed to hold on to my beer. Those days are in the past, as are the Harley hijinks. I had a pretty wild mid-life adolescence, and am grateful to have survived it relatively intact.

All of this is why I got rid of my 09 and went back to a 05.
Mine has 4in exhaust and banks bullet tuner.
Gonna keep fixing this till I can’t no more [emoji106]

That's how I am with my 08 6.7 that's deleted. I like the exhaust brake and 6spd auto trans. Been a good truck.
