Moparmyway, why not Lucas?, I don't feel it's done much for me either, but what are your thoughts?
Everything was dry when I opened up the muffler 3 days after running. So dry in fact that there was corrosion on the piston. I put two tanks through this top end after I ported it, then she sat for those three days.2016-06-12 05.35.48.jpg 2016-07-10 07.14.59.jpg 2016-07-10 07.20.19.jpg 2016-07-10 07.20.30.jpg

In picture #2 and #4, you can actually see the corrosion line in the piston, where she stopped and sat. I put her in my barn with every other saw that I have and this is the only saw that I have seen with this issue.
I ran 25:1 Lucas ............
where is my corrosion protection ?
Where is my oil ?
Why is that muffler so dry ?
I was just cutting with .375 and an 8 tooth on a 25" B&C, not even 404, which my 90cc saws usually run
This is a ported 660 with a 288 piston, tuned to 13,600 and heavily 4 stroking
Picture #3 and #4 is from me just wiping the skirt of the piston with my finger, one time, in one direction

I didnt see any oil film anywhere, so I squirt some mix in there just so I wouldnt turn her over dry

I'm from the school of run what you like Sir, mayhaps you like Lucas, Mayhaps not.

I'm definately in the NOT column regarding Lucas 2 cycle semi synthetic oil when mixxed with VP SEF.
I agree, run what works for for you. I don’t try to force my opinion on others, but share what I’ve learned.

I don't have any love affair with Lucas, it's just what I've been buying.
I never care which oil I use I lost a ported 346 due to Lucas. All my saws were dry bad on the exhaust side. It may be worth switching up man. Like I’ll use anything but Lucas now. It’s just not lubing enough from my first hand on that I love all the other Lucas products.

I tested it years ago, like 5-6, meh. Never bought anymore.

Those piston skirt issues are not normal. It's physical erosion not chemical corrosion imo. Seen it many times.
