The 1000 is fine...5000 can be had magnetic mount too. Clean surface and slap it in the middle of the roof is best so it can use the roof as a ground plane.Seems like you know what you're talking about, thank god because this thread is in the *s-wordter lol. I'm gonna need a magnetic base antenna as I'll be running it on my suv. I was looking at the Wilson 1000. Is the 5000 hard mount?
Cleaner power going right to the battery. Do you know if it was peaked and tuned? Get them pushing a bunch of power and sometimes the 10A power port isn't up to it.Also it has a fused wire setup to hard wire it or one that goes into a 12v plug. Any advantage to hardwiring it?
I don't have a Clue if it's been touched but knowing my dad, I'd be surprised if it wasn't. I hooked it up today with a Wilson "Lil Wil" 36" antenna. Seems to work great and doing radio checks I was told it's coming in good and clear. Just want more distance which I'll get out of a better antenna I'm sure.Cleaner power going right to the battery. Lmao I worked on a House near Muir beach, but can't spell the name of the town, if that helps the point. LolI'm quite sure I did, but that just proves the point further. Lol
