I'll buy you one for machining my crank. :D

I already bought a Walbro WJ-71. I've had good luck with these carbs and they are cheap. I'll just need to add an external impulse, and thanks to Dave I have plenty of impulse barbs.

But seriously, if you want a crank machined we'll work something out.

Do you think the stock t760 carb would be a good one to try?
For whatever reason...I find the earlier tillotson runs real good on these and the 385/390. Nothing wrong with the walbro, I just think the tilly just runs well.
What carb is that?
I have a TS760 Tilly carb.

Machining the weights is much simpler . For the rod just buff it till it clears , I've been putting those 2100 in 394 and jonsered 2095 for years to turn them into 6 cube racers and its been holding fine ;) What did you do for the key ?

I cut the keyway in by hand. I was only 5 deg off from where I wanted to be when I check it with a timing light. Then I just filed the cast in key in the flywheel to get it where I wanted.

Hey Shaun when you mount a 394 carb to a 395 how do you do it? The venturi is about 1 mm larger on 394 carbs I think. I tried to at one point, but the throttle shaft interfered with the throttle cable holder and I gave up and put the 298 tilly back on.

Can you put one in a 288xp? I think the 394xp uses the same crank as a 288xp...

Now we're thinking!

My saw runs good, but a couple more mm of stroke and a few extra cc couldn’t hurt, right?

Just need a 2100 crank (turned down) and a 2mm spacer under the jug?

They are basically the same carb minus the external impulse barb and the choke linkage hole is larger for the plastic choke pull instead of the steel wire.

I think the Venturi is about the same. They have the same throttle bore.

It's more than 2mm. It's 1mm to make up for the stroke difference but then you have the difference in rod length. I used a 0.090" spacer but I took some out of the squish.

Oh, I see. I didn’t think that one all the way through.

I'm a mechanical engineer and I do software programming. I was an automotive machinist before college. These are my personal machines setup at a friends race shop.

Where are you in Belgium? I lived in Leuven for a few months about 10 years ago.

Nice tools for playing.

I live in Lanaken, 5 miles from Maastricht ;) and 40miles from Leuven.
