I need to buy a few parts tomorrow, gone buy them from the same shop who has the 572xpg, at least I get the chance to flip her around a bit and feel how she is in the balance.

To be a 70cc class saw, she look slim Bob, how do you feel about how her power head is against 372?

Has a good feel to it. The front to back distance between the handles feels a little longer to me, which gives it a nicer balance. Same way that the 550 and 562 feel a little better than their predecessors. (sorry 346 and 262 lovers, just my opinion there.)

Any idea on a 565 price?

I can only guess on that. If they follow the pattern they've done with other saws, then I'd expect the 565 to be $100 lower than the 572. But sometimes it's less than that as is currently the situation with the 555 and 562, in which case every one steps up to the XP. Won't know for sure unitl the price list comes out.

I'm going to start out with the 24" Oregon Versa-Cut and the new EXL chain. That combo worked fine on the 562 last time up at Walt's, and it will likely be an even better fit on the 572.

Has the new chain from Husqvarna made it to North America yet and isn't that a part of the 572's touted cutting ability?

yup, same impression I had Bob, I liked the balance in the 572, reminds me of 550.

if you ask me, the new chain is just as big news as 572 was.
It doesnt always come with 565/572, in some countries yes, later it will be a standard.
We have used to new SG33 325 narrow kerf for while, best NK chain out there at the moment, and they say the new 3/8" 58ga for 572 is even better

Not gonna lie, this saw is giving me an itch. Looking forward to running it, also looking forward to comparing it to my ported XPW. In all honesty I expect it to walk away from my saw. I hope it does, I really enjoy when new designs or improvements yield butt kicking results from the factory.

Chain isn't in the US yet. I got this saw PHO. Never even thought about the chain. But I think that what the saw does, and whatever the chain does need to be considered separately. The saw has to run whatever chain the owner chooses to use. And the chain can be used on a 372, 272 or an XL12. :)

It will be available in other gauges. They obviously need to cover all the bases in the chain market to be a serious supplier. I'm curious to see what they have up their sleeve in .325 full chisel. Haven't heard a word about it though.

Yes, I am more excited about seeing the chain come for all my old saw's. Was surprised that the chain was tied with the unveiling of the saw and not on it's own when Husqvarna announced it.
Will be interesting to see how well it does, guess I should try some of the new Oregon chain in the meantime.

I agree. I think the chain could’ve had it’s own debut and was somewhat over shadowed by the unveiling of the saw.

I had a couple of the prototypes and was impressed with the way they ran. Especially after they broke in. Won't really run this saw until Sat. Waiting in part cause it's absolutely driving a couple guys nuts. But I want to screw around with it for an entire afternoon and enjoy myself, not just make a couple cuts and have to go back in the store. I am real impressed with some of the thoughtful improvements that were made since I had the test saws. This is one of those "worth the wait" deals vs the bunch of updates that needed to be done to the 562 when it first came out.

Husky had nothing to do with me getting this saw. It's what we'd call a "dealer transfer" from a good dealer and a great guy in the UK. He was nice enough to let me have it for his dealer cost, which is how dealers normally do things. (Plus the shipping of course.) So I won't say who he is or what I paid. He was cool with helping a fellow dealer, but they don't generally do the international shipping thing. There could be no warranty on something like this, nor are there any parts available in the US yet. That's why I told the logger that's going to run it that he can't break anything. :)
Will you have a 2 hour YouTube vid?

Walt is supposed to come down tomorrow if they ever let him out of the plow truck. But even the two of us can't run our mouths for 2 hours................thankfully!

Going to be some debut in dirty frozen wood on it's first tank of gas. LOL

"Speedcut" is the term for the narrow kerf bars and new TXL chain. "VersaCut" is also an aluminum core bar, but for the regular .325 and 3/8 applications. I sell the 20" for $40, and that's part of what makes them interesting. Every other lightweight bar comes with a hefty price premium, where this one is affordable. All of these bars are replacements for the "pro-light" laminated bars. They don't have replaceable tips, and really can't be considered a pro bar for guys that bore cut every tree. But for firewood cutting and the stuff that most of us do, I like them. Really, how often do guys like us blow tips anyway?
