I have a HF manual log splitter that due to my stupidity I need to replace the hyd. bottle jack. This thing has two levers, one moves the shaft at a faster speed & the other is used to do the splitting. Anyone know where I may purchase the bottle jack or a bottle jack that will work in the horizontal position. HF does not have them but Northern Tool does have them or $84. I only paid about $100 for this thing and believe it or not it does work pretty good. I built a gas powered one years ago and keep that one at our cabin. I bought the HF splitter to use here where I live to split smaller stuff.

If you Call Harbor Freight technical support they should be able direct to where to find the parts needed. 1-888-866-5797

And yet they still sell the whole unit...Why they even have to parts breakdown listed in the manual if they are not intending on selling the parts. I reckon it is just another one of those use it, break it, and throw away deals.

Exactly what I thought. I had thought about buying an air compressor from them but I won't now. If you can't get replacement parts, what good are they.
Northern Tool has the bottle jacks but they are $84. The complete unit is $100. Does not make sense. I am trying to find a single lever bottle jack that will work in the horizontal position that I could maybe adapt to the splitter.

Have you tried taking the original bottle jack apart, it might just need orings and seals. I’ve never taken one apart but you should, it sure would be worth a try.

Actually the shaft split due to my stupidity. It still works but I don't know for how long. I doubt if I could find parts for it.

It is actually called a "cylinder jacket". It still works but I don't know for how long.

I would imagine if you were to measure the length and diameter of that shaft, you could buy another generic HF bottle Jack same size and swop out shafts. Or take that one to a machine shop and repair or have them make a new one.
