Those look great!
A big bowl, or three, of ham & beans is hard to beat.........especially when it's butt ass cold outside.

Pretty darn good, having them for supper again tonight. I cooked a big pot in mamas new electric pressure cooker with a big ham bone with some meat left on it. I think we are going to like the new pressure cooker.

What was your cook time in the pressure cooker?
Did you pre-soak the beans?
I've been thinking about a pressure cooker but haven't made up my mind.

I did not pre-soak the beans, The ham bone was much bigger than I thought it was, I did 2 cups of great northern beans with 1 medium onion and 8 cups water with 2 Tbs Olive oil , and set the cooker to 30 minutes, which was not enough. Long story, This is a guessing game for me. ( I would try 45 minutes ) and let the pressure go down slow. It depends on what you put in it as to where to set it I think. But if you get it right it will be damn good!

( note ) this is a 8 qt. cooker ( not a 6 qt. cooker ) Size matters!! I see a lot of learning with this thing.

We've been looking at the same size unit you have. Don't see a reason for anything less than the 8qts.

I agree, I see they have a 10 qt. now. Too big for my little counter top. Plus it should be on its own receptacle, i.e. breaker. 15 amp.

We made a little pot of ham & beans today. Normally, we make twice this much.
We'll vacuum pack and freeze the leftovers.
It's pretty good.
After seeing the post from Charlie, @amberg, I had to make a pot.

Last night had meatloaf with green beans w/sliced new potatoes and a skillet of browned whole kernel and cream-style corn mixed, washed down with about a gallon of milk. Seasoned both veggies with sliced Lord's country cured side meat.

Stopped and ate Captain D’s with a buddy after work today...we split a 10-pc family meal I had a coupon for. Got home and had to do something with a whole, cut up fryer I had thawed so I sentenced it to a 370 deg peanut oil bath in the deep fryer...and damn if I didn’t eat all of it! So much for my lunch tomorrow for work. Can’t even get outta the recliner! o_O

Don,t think we have a Captain D's here anymore. Would love to have one. As I always enjoyed eating there back in the 80's
