Where are you having trouble putting the carb back on?
I must admit EVEN I have got that figured now.

1. put carb on the studs, grip the throttle rod through the grommet window with pliers or hooked pick etc. and slide carb down, pushing choke rod away with other hand if ness.
2. when carb nearly at base, wiggle the fuel pipe on
3. then finally on with the choke rod

I bet I'm nearly as quick as you now wolfy!

They actually are really easy to r&r....
The first one I put back together I was not the one to take it apart... Came in a box....
That was a bit longer of an installation.

It's a matter of which to do first, and I seem to forget some times. The fuel line is never easy, regardless of when you attach it. It's like a snake that refuses to bite the carb input tube. I don't think it can go on before you slide the carb onto the studs but the throttle has to be hooked on right after you start to slide the carb on.

Sometimes I wish I had four hands. Anyway, the fuel line eventually gets installed after a few prayers and head shakes. Oh, and the choke lever is always in the way and has to be connected up last. I found that the tank vent hose should go in rather early. That also fights the fuel line.

Hey, the best part about all this is that the saw ran perfectly after it was all done. The Man upstairs was on my side. The guy that wrote the service manual is probably being treated at a mental institution.

If you do it in the order I outlined in post #121 you'll find you get it in really fast, wolfy even says 30seconds. Personally I'm sure I can do it in a minute or so. The trick (for me) is pulling the throttle rod into the lever in carb with something appropriate while the carb drops down - else it can fall off mid install.

FWIW I do the fuel vent pipe last. I pull the actual vent body off, before I remove the carb anyway - then it stops the fuel pressure in the tank forcing your gas out of the fuel hose!!! Then you just grip the hosing part of the vent and pull it out of the way underneath the top handle plastic surround's edge. Then doing the fuel hose is really pretty damn easy.

Like we say in my country "it's a piece of piss" !!!

Well all I can say is you could call me and do not attempt a 201T carb.

You didn't have the small pieces in the handle out though right?
I did that once upon a time, but not on this saw. That's a far worse experience. I imagine a few magicians have worked with those handle pieces. Last I heard, some guys think Lone Wolf is a pretty good magician.

I like MattG's description of this embarkment. :)

I ended up putting the missing cutaways on the cr@ppy chinese 200T carb I had. Sorry about the equally cr@p picture, but you can't have everything:

I used a drill bit to measure the curvature of the genuine Zama carb's cutaways (2.5mm and 2.0mm diameter) and a combination of the end of a small file, a junior hacksaw, and a folded emery paper to get equivalently sized and appropriately positioned cuts.

Just put a couple of tanks through using the carb after reinstalling, and it dials in really well, very nice idle, response, starts etc. Glad I made the effort.
