Well guys I put a new motor in my dad’s old log splitter....after a lot of thought/debate I got a harbor freight “predator” engine....I had a older guy that has a small engine shop tell me to get it, he said it’s a clone of a Honda motor I believe....anyway it for me about $110 and the damn thing has been great so far....I only have a few hours on her, but if she continues to runnlike this, I couldn’t be any happier....I never have to run the thing past half throttle....

And yes this is an older splitter she had split ALOT of wood and wore out a few motors....my dad said she has helped buy me a lot of Christmas presents, lol....I know he used the hell out of her and so have I.....I hear my entire house and hot water with wood, (OWB), so she gets used quite a lot.....I can’t remember how many tons it is, but I have never seen wood I couldn’t split with it.....just have to read the grain....

Had to take a screen shot because I could post a video of it running for some reason....

To post a video, you need to upload it to u tube first. File size is too big for the forum to host.

Damn very nice saw!!!!

How long/how much have you used that saw...she seems like a beast....what size bars do you use with her???
Thanks
Have to dig to be accurate on how long but probably 3 years .Use it alot and as much as I can't get my hands on it one of my main saws. It's with me everytime I cut. It ran good with just a base gasket delete. But after I got it back from Randy it's just been a beast night and day difference thanks again Randy @Mastermind. It will run a 32 well but most of the time it's wearing a 24.

My son helped me cut a little wood for work today. We had a red oak split and fall across a road that needed to be cleared. Couldn't let it go to waste. Also got a chance to run my two new MMWS saws. IMG_2869.JPG

I love it. It, the 261, and 362 have been to Randy's. The 395 goes next. I always had a 044 or 440, but that 461 has taken its place. This will be split and stacked for two years before we burn it. I'm going to have to get a 20" Sugi for the 362. It looks out of place with that Stihl bar. The 241 is my son's favorite to run. It is the states, but I foresee him buying one soon. He added the Husqvarna sticker to his Stihl helmet!

What size bar you got on your 461...I like the 25” on mine but have used the 20”, 25”, and 32”...
