I went out and talked to the guy at the hose fabricator place. He told me no pipe dope, and not to make it too tight as to torque it loose from the other side of the fitting. And got some hydraulic oil, gas, and of course the invincible Mobil 1. New 5 gal push button gas can. And a little snow shovel for Emerson. Splitter works. But it made a terrible sound starting out on a big hunk of elm, which overwhelmed it. Maybe I should have gotten a 35 ton unit. Sometimes the racket is horrific, rattling and banging. Holding the pivot hitch pin seems to stop that. This machine will definitely work hard, because anything easy I’ll just whack it with the Fiskars because it’s quicker. I like the auto return feature, and I can definitely keep up with the 14 second cycle. Once it dropped below 10 degrees out, it shut off twice in one log.

Now I’m set. Once I learn the machine, it should go more smoothly.

We had to bypass the oil pressure shut off on a generator when we were in Colorado once bc it would shut off thinkn it didn't have oil pressure bc of the Temps.

Keep that *s-word up there!!!

This weather sucks donkey balls...

Stupid froze assed *s-word...

And we have 3" of white *s-word all over now...

Yay winter.. /-:

I don't recall this many days below freezing in any January round these parts..

We normally get cold then back up to the 40's for highs..

Enjoyed the spike up to 58 the other day, but that was short lived.

This is a bunch of crap.

I think I have detected a pattern developing in Matt's posts.

They are saying that our wind chill values won't ever get out of the negatives today around here. So be careful if you're going out to do anything for very long today boys. Don't want to loose a trigger finger lol!

First crack out of the box I’m going to measure the bore & stroke.
Anything less than 57cc will get a ‘not as described’ rant from the geezer.

You got all the air out of the system? What you describe may be pump cavitation John.
I thought I did. Cycled it up and down five times, they said it should move smoothly, no load, which it did. Supposed to be self-burping and so forth. Noticed the hydro fluid started to gell up a bit at 10˚, so no splitting today.

Need to track down the noises. No banging on mine.
Need a table too if you're going to do any horizontal work.
