Subbed this is going to be good.@Armbru84 sent this beast my way to get a little tlc.
I'll be giving it a thorough, and replacing all maintenance items. There's also talk of having a little bit of port work done to it.

I'll be doing this teardown and build in real time so please be patient.
Yes they are.Big mac's are bad azz, subbed!
That is not an SP muffler, the SP mufflers were rectangular. The saws had a cover over the muffler when new...

Cool saw Cole. How have you been?
I have been doing good as well. I got a couple projects I should start on soon, but something always comes up lol. Thanks! Been doing pretty good. Been cold out man. Got a few saws together that have been sitting around for awhile. Just working on projects. How have you been?
Well that really sucks. I have a growing collection of Pioneer p series cases with the same problem. I wish there was a fix for it.Well...I ran into a major roadblock here. My first though was a bad bearing when the pto side crank stub wiggled. My thought was confirmed when I saw this through the exhaust..

I pulled the oil tank to get a better look and I see what appears to be a new crank and bearings.

A little more wiggling and I could then see the oils sweating up and down between the outer bearing and case. It appears that the last bearing spun in the case enough to enlarge the hole.
Would that work on other saws as well?I see the compression release now that you say that.
I already mentioned to Jim that it is possible to bore the crankcase and install a sleeve to house the bearing if needed.
