Mine were deep. Couple winters ago -15 ,-20 heaved them. Nothing but trouble now. New well and lines when the spring comes.

All the farm waterline is deep. Don't know about the line to the house. But I'll let the kitchen sink dribble when it's 0 or below.

Most of our lines are only a foot below the plough line so if we did start having heavy prolonged freezing then we would be up a creek without a paddle
