New to Dolmar saws. Got the parts on the way for my ps5100. Also a working on a ps9000. Pretty long list of stuff it needs but the parts are slowly coming together. There is a fair amount of stuff that is NLA for them here in the us. But I have a buddy overseas that is willing to help with the stuff that I can't get here.

It's worth your time getting that 9000 going. I rebuilt one last fall and it's a real pleasure to run. Surprising power. I was going to port it some and do a base gasket delete, but now I'm glad I didn't. That saw really needs a compression release. Somehow it really kicks in at full throttle, acts like a boost port.

The German's are nicknaming the PS-9000/9010 "Dampfhammer" which means "steam hammer".

I passed on a new one in blue at a good price, kinda sorry I did . . . , maybe another one will pop up.

This saw is on my bucket (dream saw) list. Will have one one day to go/w my other blue ones 4300, 5000, 520I, 2-6100's, 2-6401BBK, New never fueled 6401/7900. Have some red ones too 421, 4-5100's (1-510,3-5100 to rebuild) 6100, 7900 and 1- black & red Maruyama MCV51NIB and Solo/Dolmar 665/681.
IL my Dolmars used to be a Husky man.

I posted in the wanted to buy but figured I would ask you guys. Need a muffler for a Makita 6401. I DON’T want a 6421 because of the CAT. Pretty sure Dolmar will work too. Ok, did some checking, a very early Dolmar 6400 is non-cat and a 7900 muffler will also work. Thanks.

There still available approx 65-70 dollars new unfortunately there more expensive than the SLR muffler

What is the desired condition of said muffler?

I have one off my PS-7300 that isn't pretty, non CAT/SLR only birdcage/baffle - can take pictures and post or PM.
I could part with it, my PS-7300 got the one off my PS-6400, and my PS-6400 received a brandy shiny new one.
No idea why I went this route

, but funny thing is I did.

As @ajschainsaws said, these mufflers are not cheap, I wouldn't mind liquidating used spare parts occupying my parts bucket and this muffler is one of them.

The muffler got poorly fixed by welding at the crimp, has some dents in the front, has no spark arrester screen, and got painted black.
This is currently the only picture I have showing the muffler.

I bought a non-cat 5100 muffler from Jack's Small Engines last summer. It was around $30.00 so you may want to check with them.

Looking for the pto crank seal driver for a ps9000. Part #944603360. Any help would be great. Or if you know of another seal driver that will work I would be happy to hear about it.

Just did some in a 9010 with a socket... 1/2" drive deep. Pretty simple.

You do have the oil pump and oil pump driver removed correct? That's the real trick. I used a 3/4 NPT coupling to grab it for removal. The I used a crank puller tool to press it back on.

The worm Gear is still on the crank for the oil pump. I am not ready to do the seals anyway. Waiting on parts and the money to buy parts. Just trying to source any tools I may need before I start. I have an assortment of seal tools from Stihl and. Husky I am sure I can find some thing that will fit.

Any one have a line on an outer felling spike for a Dolmar 6100? I checked with Nate but the guy that made them forhim was in an auto accident and isn’t making them. Thanks.

I plan to put my PS50105 back together tomorrow, IPL says to "use glue" on the flywheel side bearing. After dismantling the saw I understand why, when I carried the crankcase half over to my small arbor press to remove it, it fell out...fortunately I have some thick rubber padding on the floor in that area.

What is the preferred "glue"? I have Dirko HT, Threebond, Indian Head gasket shellac, Lock-Tite 290...
