Got it thanks. Would you say a good place to start would be with the leading edge of the keyslot in the flywheel to the trailing edge of the key way in the crankshaft. Based on if you are looking directly at the flywheel side of the saw.

Thanks. Now to find a good 064 recoil. I have all the rest of the stuff.

I'm confused why you needed to retard timing. I had this setup on my 064 for awhile and I was using a 460 flywheel and 660 coil at stock timing. Saw ran great, no kickback. I wouldn't have wanted to change timing at all the way it ran. I switched back to factory stuff cause I got tired of repairing the recoil. This is on a work saw though.

Not sure as to why. I knew I wasn't going to get it started with the way it was. After ruining some pawls I moved the flywheel. What part on the recoil did you have to keep repairing?

You got me thinking, because it's a different coil maybe?

It's been awhile since I returned it to stock recoil but iirc, for some reason it kept knocking the spring clip off the end of the pin and eating the rope/pulley. The 2nd time it did it it took a fin off the flywheel so I shelved the stuff for a non worksaw build
